In their years on the road, the CoverUps have performed alongside some of the UK’s top wedding DJs. Their impressive lighting setups and extensive collections of songs bring a lot to the table – so does it really make a difference having the music played live? Wedding bands across the country would unite with us in a resounding “yes!”, and here’s why!
The Excitement of Live Wedding Bands
There’s something almost indescribable about the sound of music when it’s played live. Wedding bands like the CoverUps have spent most of their lives honing their skills on their various instruments; guitars played with finess, drums played with genuine sensitivity, and bass played with passion. The sum really is greater than the sum of it’s parts! And it’s that energy that’s created when a wedding band plays together live that draws people in, and gives a real sense of the moment.
This sound will only happen once – for you – at your wedding. No two performances are the same. Any performing musician draws inspiration from the audience – the music when played live is a two way exchange between the audience and the wedding band.
The Best of Both Worlds
We love working alongside great DJs. In our numerous shows with DJs in recent years, the whole band have had a great time performing the hits that the DJ was planning! It’s refreshing – and it gives them the opportunity to push the boundaries of their usual set list. There are genres of music that any band, however versatile, may not perform… for example, we don’t play much Abba! So it’s great to have that available, if that’s what you’re after. Being able to make requests from any decade in any style is a great strength of a DJ – though we often find that people just want to dance, so slick back-to-back tunes is something we pride ourselves on.
If you’re looking for the best of both worlds – a DJ and a live wedding band – we can provide both at surprisingly affordable rates! Get a quote and see for yourself!
